A new generation of family unity that brings together the descendants of Slaughter, Wells, Mills, Campers, Brice, Murray, Holland, Green, Chase, Thomas, Brooks, Wilson and Gibson.
Our ancestors can be traced back to the late 1700’s from the communities of Easton Maryland, Trappe, Oxford, Dorchester, St. Michaels and Cambridge. Around the mid 1800’s we discover many family members left the area due to military or jobs and lived in or around the out lined areas of Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware, Boston, Texas, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Connecticut, California, Chicago, Ohio and several other states.
This relocation process caused great separation among the family and as a result the off-springs that were born had no idea of who their ancestors were or where they came from. Unfortunately, once families began to move away and the elder generation started to die, the family connection and history also died along with them; thus leaving a lost generation behind with very little information to connect back to the family tree.
IT has also been discovered that the small communities around the Easton Maryland area became a common ground for our families to inner mix and re-inner mix. As studies have shown, there were limited schools, little to no means of transportation and a poor government system that was designed to keep blacks and Indians lost, confused and oppressed. With all these factors going against our ancestors, one could only image that the choices of engaging in new relationships with outsiders was virtually impossible.

While we now live in 2014 and time has moved forward, there are still question that haven’t been answered about who we really are. Various family members have stories, pictures, bible entries and eye witness accounts of who our ancestors are. Some family members have even traced genealogy records in search of answers. Easton Family is a joint effort of everyone involved to bring answers and education to a lost generation.
